The Sulzer Engineering Company has had a key role in the history of Epping Forest Lodge. No fewer than 22 members since 1945 have been connected with Sulzer.

The minutes of the meeting held on Saturday the 10th of November 1945 record that the Secretary read a proposal form in respect of
- Mr. Paul Schneeburger, Heating Engineer (Craftsman), Aged 47 Later became Supervisor. Proposed by Bro F.H.Jefferys, Seconded by W. Bro. E.V. Kemp on instructions’ of the committee. He was Initiated on the 11th of February 1946 and was the 114th Initiate of the Lodge. As far as can be ascertained he was the first of many members who were employees or had a connection with the Sulzer Bros. – UK

8th Nov. 1947
- Mr Walter Swinfen-Tucker Assistant Engineer, Ministry of Works. Aged 38. Walter’s connection with Sulzer Bros. came about when he was Project Manager for a MOW Job at Teddington.
Sulzer Bro (London) Ltd; were the contractors. Paul Sneeburger was the Sulzer supervisor.
Walter was never a member of Sulzer staff but, through this contact, his son Terence was later to join Sulzer as an Apprentice Engineer.
