The brethren and their guests, joined by their APGM, W. Brother Joseph Shearer, celebrated a milestone for two of the much-loved members at the last meeting.

W. Bro Simon Higgins received recognition for his 50 years of commitment to Freemasonry in Essex, and W. Bro Vic Dalton was recognised with a certificate for 60 years’ dedication to the lodge and the craft.

A delightful meeting and very humbling for all of the members to think about the combined 110 years of experience and dedication that both Simon and Vic have given to Freemasonry.

Members and guests celebrate the milestone with Brothers Vic and Simon, along with the APGM.

Both brethren recounted some of their experiences and personal stories to the members, and we heard about their individual stories and careers outside of Freemasonry, including being a taxi driver for over 40 years, riding, and tracking through the Malayan jungle.

This goes to show the vast tapestry of men that make up Freemasonry, and the varied and inspiring stories each has to bring on their journey in the fraternity.
